Baseline
Mental Health Assessment for First Responders
1 Session Baseline Assessment
1-2 Sessions Prevention Skills
Follow-Up Well-Being Screenings
Whether you’re just starting your journey as a first responder or have been on the job for years, it’s never too late to check in on your mental health. A Baseline Assessment helps you understand how you currently manage stress and prepares you to navigate the unique challenges of your work. Do you wonder how you will respond when encountering your first traumatic situation? Are you worried about encountering a scenario that hits too close to home? Do you know what strategies to use to avoid long term impacts? Our specially trained therapists will perform a baseline evaluation of your mental health and assess your current coping skills, stress levels, and emotional well-being.
We will focus on:
-
Strategies to cope with the cumulative effects of trauma
-
Guidelines of how to respond to your first (or next) traumatic or triggering call
-
Unhealthy coping skills to avoid
-
Helping you learn to identify warning signs of PTSD, depression, or anxiety early
These assessments are suitable for those just starting their careers, helping to identify both current strengths and potential problem areas that may increase the risk of post-traumatic stress. Assessments are also helpful for those further into their career who are noticing impact from the job in any way. These assessments are typically one session and provide the option to continue with follow-up sessions focused on Prevention Skills to build long-term resilience.
This is also a chance to build rapport and trust with a therapist that you can go back to whenever you need it. After a traumatic incident, the process of finding a qualified therapist is often very daunting, so this sets you up to get support more easily and faster, which can make all the difference.
Ongoing Support
We offer regular follow-up screenings of your well-being at set intervals to watch for changes in your well-being and reinforce strategies for avoiding long term impact of traumatic events on your mental health.
